October always feels like the month to slow down. A time for rituals, soft textures, and long moments that feel like little hugs. Between cozy weekends at home and the first real chill in the air, I’ve found myself reaching for small things that make me feel more grounded, more present, and a little more me. Here’s what I’ve been loving lately.

1. Adding more natural products to my daily beauty care routine

ree

This month, I’ve been simplifying and replacing products with more natural, skin-loving ones. My make-up bag now feels much lighter, both literally and energetically. I’ve been using Jane Iredale makeup, which has become my new obsession. The eyeshadows in Supernova and Dark Suede are absolutely gorgeous on blue eyes, and I love the eyeshadow sticks for an easy, effortless glow. For lips, I’ve been switching between Blush and Desert Rose, both soft and natural shades that give that healthy flush I adore. I finish my routine with the Beauty of Joseon SPF 50, which gives the most beautiful, subtle glow while protecting my skin.

For skincare, I’ve fallen back in love with Weleda Skin Food Light. It’s rich but sinks in beautifully, and the Weleda Body Oil Spray leaves my skin silky and hydrated without feeling greasy. There’s something comforting about using products that feel simple, pure, and made to nurture.

2. Bach essences: Oak & Impatiens

ree

I’ve recently started sharing more about my love for Bach flower remedies, and they’ve quickly become part of my daily rhythm. Right now, I’m using Oak for strength and perseverance, and Impatiens to remind myself to slow down. They’ve been little emotional anchors in my bag this month, subtle but powerful.

3. The book on my nightstand: Rituelen voor vrouwen

ree

I’ve been reading this beautiful book filled with feminine rituals that celebrate cycles, intuition, and sisterhood. It’s a gentle invitation to return to our own rhythm, something I think many of us need as life moves so fast.

4. Fresh apples from my parents’ garden

ree

My parents’ garden has the most delicious apples and pears this time of year, and I’ve been eating them almost every day. There’s something about that crisp, sweet taste that instantly brings me back to childhood and the feeling of simple autumn comfort. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that feel the most special.

5. A YouTube video that made me pause: “You’d Be Hotter If You Logged Out”

ree

This one surprised me. It’s not the kind of thing I usually list as a favourite, but it really stayed with me. The video talks about how much our idea of beauty is shaped by what we see online and how logging out, even for a little while, can make you reconnect with your natural rhythm, your real beauty, your own pace. It’s a quiet but powerful reminder that less scrolling, more living might just be the secret to feeling our best.

October has been about creating space for calm, for beauty, for the things that truly nourish me.

What about you? What’s been bringing you peace or joy this month?

With love,

Sofie
